Location: Amista Vineyards, 3320 Dry Creek Valley, Healdsburg, CA. 95448
Do you love making people feel at home? Are you ready to share your passion for wine in a place that values friendship as much as a great bottle of bubbles? At Amista Vineyards, our name means “making friends,” and it’s the heartbeat of everything we do. From our estate-grown Méthode Traditionnelle sparkling wines, to our Rhône varietals, we believe every glass is an opportunity to celebrate a moment and create a connection. As the first sparkling house in Sonoma County to be CCOF Certified Organic, we are proud pioneers of sustainable, artisanal winemaking—and we’re looking for someone new to join our circle!
The Opportunity: We’re looking for a warm, guest-focused team member, with a passion for wine and wine sales, to join us in our Healdsburg tasting room. This isn’t just about pouring wine; it’s about storytelling, education, and creating that “wow” moment for every guest who walks through our doors.
What a Typical Day Looks Like:
• Creating Connections: Welcoming guests with a genuine smile and the spirit of “Amista.”
• Sharing Our Story: Educating visitors about our organic farming, our unique “sparkling house” heritage, and the nuances of our Rhône-style wines.
• Curating the Experience: Guiding guests through tastings, helping them find their new favorite wine, and inviting them to join our Wine Club family.
• Sales & Club Growth: Strong focus on proactively promoting and selling Wine and Wine Club memberships. Consistently meet or exceed performance metrics, with a focus on increasing Average Order Value (AOV) and conversion rates.
• Entry of customer data and sales transactions into winery POS system – ‘Commerce7’
• Supporting the Team: Working collaboratively to keep the tasting room beautiful and helping manage our “just-in-time” inventory so we’re always ready for a celebration.
• Growth & Learning: Staying tech-savvy with Commerce7 (our sales platform) and participating in ongoing training to sharpen your hospitality and sales skills.
• Position Reports to: Hospitality & Events Manager
What You Bring to the Table:
• The Essentials: You love to talk about, promote and sell wine and wine club memberships. You are 21+, comfortable being on your feet and lifting 50 lbs, and you love the energy of a busy weekend (our favorite days to share wine!)
• Ability to quickly, and accurately, execute data entry and sales transactions into winery POS system. (Experience using ‘Commerce7’ is a big plus!)
• A Natural Host: You’re dependable, personable, and have a great sense of humor. You truly enjoy meeting new people and sharing our story.
• A Curious Mind: You have a passion for wine (or a deep desire to learn!) and want to dive into the world of estate-grown bubbles.
• Team Player: You’re ready to hit the ground running and support your teammates in a vibrant, supportive environment.
Required Work Schedule: Saturdays and Sundays, plus one additional weekday + events and holidays. This position is Part-time Seasonal (typically May-November), with potential for permanent hire, upon future approval.
Why You’ll Love Working Here:
• Community: Join a small, tight-knit team that values your voice and treats everyone like a friend.
• Compensation: $19–$23/hour (DOE) + incentives + gratuity
• Impact: You’ll be a key part of an authentic, farm-to-table wine country experience.
• Inspiration: Work at a pioneer estate—the first CCOF Certified Organic Sparkling House in the county.

About Us
At Amista Vineyards, our name translates to “making friends,” and that philosophy guides everything we do—from our team culture to our guest experience! Nestled in the heart of Sonoma County’s Dry Creek Valley, we are a CCOF-certified organic estate winery dedicated to crafting exceptional Méthode Traditionnelle sparkling wines and Rhône varietals. We believe world-class wine is best enjoyed in the company of friends, served with warm, down-to-earth hospitality.
We are looking for a highly motivated, high-energy Hospitality and Outreach Lead who embodies this friendly spirit, loves delivering unforgettable guest experiences, and wants to champion our local brand outreach.
Position Overview
The Hospitality and Outreach Lead is a dynamic, multi-faceted role that perfectly balances exceptional estate hosting with strategic, outward-facing community building.
You will spend 70% of your time on the hospitality floor—welcoming guests, driving club growth, mentoring the sales team, and keeping our inventory operations sharp. The remaining 30% (about 1.5 days per week) is your time to shine in the community, cultivating local partnerships and driving qualified visitors to our tasting room.
Key Responsibilities
Hospitality, Sales & Floor Leadership (70%)
- The Ultimate Host: Greet and host visitors with “white-glove” hospitality delivered in a down-to-earth, approachable style. Share the authentic stories and messaging that make Amista unique.
- Drive Sales & Club Growth: Proactively promote and sell our wines and Wine Club memberships. Consistently meet or exceed performance metrics, focusing on increasing Average Order Value (AOV) and club conversion rates.
- Team Mentorship: Support the Hospitality and Events Manager by providing active floor coaching and motivation to ensure our sales team maintains high service standards.
- Inventory Operations: Assist with inventory counts and reconciliation, preparing weekly wine order suggestions to keep the tasting room perfectly stocked.
- Tasting Room Support: Master our POS system (Commerce7), process shipments, and assist with private tastings and special winery events.
Outreach & Brand Ambassador Management (30% / 1.5 Days)
- Strategic Partnering: Cultivate and nurture relationships with local lodging, transportation companies, restaurants, and concierges to build local buzz and drive pre-qualified traffic to the estate.
- The 33-Touch Program: Own and execute our focused 33-touch outreach program, spending designated time out in the community visiting key partners.
- Storytelling: Seamlessly weave technical winemaking knowledge into approachable, lifestyle-oriented storytelling that reflects our “making friends” philosophy.
- Track Results: Document your outreach touchpoints, measure resulting foot traffic/sales, and collaborate with the Estate Director and Hospitality Manager on omnichannel marketing collateral.
Qualifications
- Experience: 2+ years of luxury winery tasting room, hospitality, wine sales, or event marketing experience is preferred.
- Personality: An energetic, outgoing, and inclusive personality with a natural gift for storytelling and building rapport.
- Sales Passion: A genuine drive for promoting and selling wine and club memberships for a brand and philosophy you truly believe in.
- Skills: Exceptional time and project management skills; ability to work independently in the field and collaboratively on the floor. Proficient with winery POS systems (Commerce7 preferred) and standard tools like Excel, Outlook, and Canva.
- Availability: Absolute availability to work a Thursday through Monday schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and move for extended periods and comfortably lift up to 50 lbs.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Rate: $24.00 – $28.00 per hour (Dependent on Experience)
- Individual Gratuities: Highly lucrative tasting room tips (potential average of an additional $5.00–$10.00+ per hour, depending on the season)
- Incentives & Bonuses:
- Individual Wine Club sign-up bonuses
- $2.00 per bottle bonus on wine sales of 4+ bottles
- Shared team sales bonuses and occasional extra staff incentives
- Perks:
- Paid Time Off (PTO) and Holiday Pay
- Generous employee wine discounts
- Monthly medical insurance stipend if needed (provided upon successful completion of a 90-day onboarding period)
